A.amari is a poet, storyteller, and performer known for her honest, evocative, and deeply reflective work. Through her art, she fearlessly reshapes narratives, inviting her audience to see themselves, their history and humanity through a new perspective.
She curated Kanga Kisses and Matatu Beats, a poetry show exploring love from an African lens. She has also graced stages like This Woman Knows War and Mashujaa Love Festival. Her work has earned her recognition as second runner-up at the Kenya Poetry Grand Slam 2025 and runner-up at the PYSK Women’s Slam 2024.
She’s the creator of the A.amari Speaks podcast where culture, memory, and reclamation come alive through intimate, playful, and powerful storytelling.
Her words also live in print, featured in Give the Woman Her Flowers and When We Speak anthologies. When she’s not on stage or writing, she’s out in nature, finding the peace and inspiration that fuel her creativity.
