Alain Mabanckou
Alain Mabanckou is a novelist, journalist, poet, and academic. Born in the Republic of the Congo and a French citizen, he is a distinguished professor of literature in the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies at UCLA. Known for his novels and non-fiction exploring contemporary Africa and the African diaspora in France, Mabanckou is regarded as one of the most prominent Franco-African writers in contemporary Francophone literature.
