Ellah P. Wakatama, OBE, (Hon.) FRSL is Editor at Large for Canongate Books and co-founder of Pfumo Collective. She chairs the Caine Prize for African Writing and was formerly Deputy Editor of Granta magazine, Editor at Large for Granta Books, founding Publishing Director of The Indigo Press, and senior editor at Jonathan Cape, Random House. Her journalism appears in The Telegraph, The Guardian, Observer, The Spectator, and Griffith Review, and her broadcasting has featured on BBC, NPR, and Times Radio. She edited Africa39 and Safe House: Explorations in Creative Nonfiction, and contributed to New Daughters of Africa (2019).
