Lina Meruane

Lina Meruane is an award-winning Chilean writer and scholar of Palestinian descent, living between Santiago, New York, and Madrid. She has published two short story collections and five novels, including Seeing Red (Deep Vellum & Atlantic) and Nervous System (Graywolf & Atlantic). Her non-fiction explores disease, disability, feminisms, gender, and the Palestinian diaspora. She has received awards such as the Premio Iberoamericano de Letras José Donoso (2023), Blue Metropolis (2023), and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Novel Prize (2012), as well as Guggenheim and NEA grants. She is Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University’s MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish.
