Muthoni Mwangi
Muthoni Mwangi (b. 1997) is a visual research collage artist and founder of Cozy Culture Kenya, committed to integrating mutual aid and intentional rest into the artistic process. Her work explores how cities are formed through layers of living, arriving, remembering, and building. Using her signature Narrative Boxes, Mwangi reassembles fragments of history to illuminate the present. She is developing a multidisciplinary research project in the Lamu Archipelago, Kenya, studying Swahili culture and the arrival of Islam, inviting global collaborators and creating art that honors untold stories while reimagining the past and future.
